Education:
We offer educational programs such as
drug awareness and literacy classes, mandatory
GED classes for those without a high school
diploma, and a computer training program to
develop job skills and resume preparation. |

Laurie Cooper (lower right), the
founder and administrator of The
Mission's very popular Computer Skills
Program, is seen here with her team. The
course provides our residents the skills
to acquire jobs. |

Case Management
We provide essential case management services
that help women deal with the pains of their
past, and learn to hold hope for the future.
Women receive a self improvement plan based on
their needs. Weekly monitoring helps them to
reach established goals

Responsible Resident
Program
Our Responsible Resident Program teaches
responsibility and demands accountability by
requiring that all women give a minimum of 20
hours per week helping to maintain The
Mission. Residents help cook all of the
meals, clean their room and bathrooms, and help
with reception of "in-kind"
donations. Our residents also make and
distribute daily sack lunches for neighborhood
day-laborers.

Spiritual
Counseling
Most importantly, as a nondenominational
Christian shelter, The Mission of Yahweh
strives to meet spiritual needs by
offering 4 chapel services per week, and
providing spiritual counseling for anyone
in need. We believe that this
formation of character and values is
essential to creating lasting change in
the lives of homeless and abused women
and their children. |
